PLUS: OpenAI raises $122 billion to accelerate the next phase of AI

Happy Monday!

After two years of writing this newsletter as Cliff Notes, I’m making a change.

I’m not announcing it just yet, but next week, this newsletter will have a new name.

And it is not just a rebrand.

Over the last quarter, something has shifted in AI. Not in a small, incremental way. In a way that feels different. More personal. More powerful. More capable of actually changing how we work and live.

Most people have not fully caught it yet.

But I have been seeing it up close, and it is becoming very clear that we are entering a new phase. One where it is no longer about keeping up with AI, but about learning how to use it in ways that give you real leverage.

That is what this next version of the newsletter is going to be about.

I have some really fun things planned, and I want to make sure more of you get to experience what is now possible. So stay tuned for next week.

For now, this week’s newsletter has some fun stories, and I want to hint at a prompt below that I think a lot of you will love.

It is designed for moments when you are about to start something new. Instead of jumping straight into action, it forces you to slow down, think clearly, and get aligned on what you actually want. It asks better questions, challenges your assumptions, and helps uncover what might be holding you back before you even begin.

Because sometimes the biggest unlock is not doing more.

It is thinking better before you start.

PROMPT: I’m about to start a project. Your job is to act as a strategic advisor, not an assistant.

Interview me step-by-step until you have at least 95% confidence in:

  1. What I actually want (not what I think I should want)

  2. What success looks like in measurable terms

  3. What constraints, fears, or hidden assumptions might be shaping my thinking

Rules:

  • Ask one question at a time

  • Prioritize uncovering contradictions, vague goals, and misaligned incentives

  • Challenge my answers when needed—don’t just accept them

  • If I’m being unclear, pause and force specificity

Before giving any recommendations, summarize:

  • My true objective

  • The biggest risks or blind spots

  • What I should stop doing or ignore

Only then suggest a plan.
